About Me

I am from Cumbria. I studied physics at the University of
York, then the horn at Trinity College of Music. I work as
a freelance horn player in London. I have been second horn
in the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment since 1995.

A few years ago, at a low point, I went on a therapeutic
holiday to Atsitsa on the island of Skyros. There I met the
inspirational massage and yoga teacher Ken Eyerman,
later doing his professional training course.
Combining this bodywork with music workshop
techniques led to the idea of “Free Your Playing”,
helping musicians to release physically and creatively. Later I also studied
Process Oriented Psychology, attracted by its idea that what is going on NOW is the right thing, even if it feels like the wrong thing.
